Hey “20 somethings” – you have been in your job now for a couple of years and now you are thinking maybe now is the time to buy. I am not going to bore you with the traditional reasons as to why you should consider buying now versus renting – we have all heard them before and quite frankly they aren’t sexy enough for me.
The real reason that you should buy is because now is a great opportunity to get back in on the ground floor and you can rent out the extra bedrooms to your friends. Think about it – You are building your wealth (paying down your mortgage with rental income) versus your current landlord’s and you are doing it while giving your friends a great place to live. Plus you get to hang out with really cool people. Furthermore, if you select neighborhoods near Hospitals, schools, etc. you can have a steady source of renters if you choose to move on to another property or out of state.
